Whether you’re a woman in the automotive work force or a woman needing information about automobiles I have a source for you. Even though this one is geared towards the ladies I encourage you guys out there to check out this website also.
My Assessment
I’m in the business of writing automotive blog entries and formatting photo journals for my website autorepairfacts.com. The idea came about from the last two years of teaching automotive technology here in Indianapolis at our local, but yet corporate college.
While teaching, I noticed a pattern developing in the male to female ratio that started to increase every month. Out of 30 students, the females went from 1 every class to 2 every class. Then 3, and as many as 4 out of 30. The cool thing was the competitive nature that this brought within the class. I’d like to think that, before the women became increasingly involved in the automotive program, a majority of the males test scores and overall grades were between 2.5 and 3.5 GPA with a few at 4.0′s and 95-98% attendance. With the number of women in the classroom and school increasing every month, I noticed with the male population that there was a real desire to not only focus more on their studies but to compete for a better grade than the females in the class. You can only imagine how intimidating this could be on either side.
From my perspective, there couldn’t be a better motivator in an automotive classroom than females. As a result, my student’s grades as a whole jumped up into the 3.0 to 4.0 range with more of them achieving perfect attendance and 4.0′s than ever before. I can assure you that the females hard work ranked them in the top 10% of my classes most of the time.
Ask Patty.com
Whether you’re a woman in the automotive work force or a woman needing information about automobiles I have a source for you. One of my recommendations and possible top ten candidates is Ask Patty.com. This is a link designed for women to feel more secure when needing automotive related advice.
Do you have a frequently asked question? Ask Patty.com has a place to research other peoples questions and answers, and a chance to post questions of your own. The 4 main categories for frequently asked questions are: car buying, car care, car safety, and maintenance & repair.
Planning on purchasing a car soon? Here’s a great user tool on this website. Under the auto loans tab, in the research tools you can use the loan amount payment calculator. This will help to determine a vehicle amount, length of payment, and percent of interest rates available when planning ahead to purchase a new or used vehicle. Get a quote for your old car by entering the year, make, and model with this very user friendly car quote. You can even find financing for the car that you always wanted and pick a place to car shop from one of the Ask Patty.com certified female friendly dealers nationwide.
The only unfortunate thing for Indianapolis is, the closest one to us is approximately 80 miles east in Cincinnati Ohio. Hopefully with building our website fan base and growing over time we can help get local dealers involved in this program. Here is a link to Borcherding Buick, Pontiac, GMC for an opportunity to see a website with the Ask Patty.com certification seal.

Here’s a great link for a number of people, ASE blue seal locator. This website is designed to help you locate a repair shop that employs certified technicians to repair your car and prevent the possibility of being ripped off by untrained technicians. Here’s an opportunity for women who are finishing automotive trade schools to search out a place of employment. This can only give you an upper hand in the industry.
Automotive researching
When researching automotive related articles you can find any thing you need to know by using Google or Yahoo. Wouldn’t you rather have one website that can give you all that you need? How about a variety of the helpful resources that you can use to gain knowledge of automotive systems and research links to the best websites out there? I have done a lot of research, and there are few websites with a great deal of knowledge that I would recommend as a one stop place to go. This is what I’m working towards. Eventually I’ll write articles about my top ten favorite websites, hoping that autorepairfacts.com can be apart of the best websites out there for people to use.
Everyone should learn how to repair their car
With always having the desire to teach, auto repair facts has given me the opportunity to format a place for people (young and old) to go and learn about automotive related stuff.
